Mr. Cavallaro graduated from Brooklyn Tech Aero Engineering in 1970, then earned a B.A. in Economics, from Queens College, in 1974. He then worked toward his Masters Degree in Business Administration at CUNY. He joined the American International Group in 1974 and left in 1986 as Senior Vice President. In April 1986, Mr. Cavallaro founded ARC Excess & Surplus, LLC where he currently serves as Chief Executive Officer. He has been an underwriter throughout his illustrious forty-year career and a broker for 28 1/2 of those years. He has garnered many awards such as the PLUS Founder Award in 2002, for outstanding contributions to PLUS, the PLUS Award in 2006, for outstanding contributions to the Professional Liability Industry as a whole, and Insurance Statesman of the Year, in 2002. He is also an honored member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society and has given numerous speeches at RIMS, PLUS and other Insurance Organizations. Mr. Cavallaro is also a published author, penning an article on Y2K and other pertinent insurance issues in the Management and Professional Liability world. Mr. Cavallaro became an Officer and Partner at ARC Excess & Surplus in 2002. Today he is the Co-Chief Operating Officer of the company. His duties include managing a book of business with 4 brokers and 8 administrative people that service accounts he is directly involved in producing, manages a team of other brokers at ARC who handle their own respective books of business, works with John Semeraro in dealing with relationships with brokers and insurance companies and other business partners and setting the direction for the company in terms of marketing and operations. He has been brokering Management and Professional Liability for 22 years at ARC and worked at AIG from 1985 to 1990 and then Gulf Insurance Company from 1990 to1992.
The singular emphasis on Management and Professional Liability with a heavy focus on D&O Insurance has allowed him to gain substantial experience and expertise in placing Management and Professional Liability Insurance and providing clients with valuable advice when making decisions regarding these lines of coverage. Prior to joining ARC, John held various managerial positions in both Brokering and Underwriting, the latest of which was Senior Vice President with Marsh/FINPRO Division. He graduated from Hofstra University in 1976 with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration Degree and also attended Hofstra for graduate level courses and to obtain his RPLU designation. He is now Co-Chief Operating Officer of the company, as well as, involved with relationship building with both carriers and retail brokers. John is keen at listening to what clients have to say, and then implementing solutions, accordingly. He is an avid reader and into the restoration of a late model Porsche 911 Carrera.

Heather manages the claims advocacy group, working with clients to obtain favorable settlements of complex claims. She serves as a national resource to all ARC Brokers to support client placements, including assisting clients in interactions with carriers to develop manuscript policy wording. Heather also serves as General Counsel to ARC Excess and Surplus, LLC. She graduated St. John’s University with a B.S. degree in Economics, cum laude; New England School of Law JD cum laude. Before teaming up with ARC, she was SVP & Chief Underwriting Officer of the AIG Executive Liability Unit, also serving as General Counsel there, responsible for the drafting of all AIG Management and Professional Liability policies and endorsements; liaised with the claims department to assist with policy interpretation; and assisted underwriters in analyzing risks. Heather previously practiced law in Massachusetts, primarily focused on civil litigation, including employment-related litigation. She is a member, Trustee of the Board of Trustees and President-Elect of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (“PLUS”). Heather is also a frequent speaker at seminars, including PLUS and RIMS, on a wide range of management liability and insurance coverage topics.

Joan Brunjes has been working at ARC Excess & Surplus since it opened its doors in 1986. Joan is a Certified Public Accountant who started her career as an intern at age 18 at JK Lasser and Company and remained there for 3 years. JK Lasser and Company merged with Touche Ross & Company where she stayed for 4 years working her way to manager. She then became a Partner in a Public Accounting firm where she stayed until joining Arc Excess & Surplus in 1986.
Joan is a graduate with highest honors of Northeastern University with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. She has had an NYS insurance brokers license for twenty years and became a certified public accountant in August of 1978.

Rob has close to three decades of experience designing and placing all types of Management and Professional Liability Programs throughout the world. Rob specializes in placing Directors & Officers, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, and all forms of Professional Liability Coverage, including but not limited to Cyber, Privacy and Security Liability. Rob has placed some of the most complex Global Management and ProfessionalLiability Programs for many of the Fortune 500. Prior to joining ARC as a Partner in 2001, Rob spent twelve years at Frenkel & Co., Inc., a large International Insurance Brokerage firm headquartered in NYC, where he oversaw the Management and Professional Liability Practice.
Rob has a very strong following of Corporate CEOs, CFOs, Risk Managers, Insurance Attorneys, and Retail Insurance Brokers; many of whom he has worked with for decades and have relied on his technical expertise, market clout and reputation as an aggressive client advocate. Throughout his career, Rob has been a trusted partner with his clients having designed and placed the Management & Professional Liability Insurance Programs for some of the largest global firms in the world.
Rob frequently speaks at various Risk Management Forums on topics relating to Management & Professional Liability Insurance. Rob also serves on the Board of Directors for the Professional Liability Underwriters Society Foundation, and is an active board member for three other Non-Profit Organizations on Staten Island, NY.

Ryan is a Broker at ARC focusing on management and professional liability and fidelity/crime insurance for all industries with a specialization in financial institutions. Ryan’s specialization in financial institutions is the product of more than 10 years of underwriting while at Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, now Chubb Limited where he most recently served as Vice President and Underwriting Manager. His credentialed experience includes crafting insurance coverage for hedge funds, private equity and venture capital funds, mutual funds, real estate funds/trusts, family offices, investment advisers, broker/dealers, banks and insurance companies.
Ryan earned a B.A. in History from Western New England University after attending the Berkshire School and Saint Paul Catholic High School. Outside of ARC Ryan actively participates as a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and athlete and spends his free time with his wife and two sons.

Mark is an experienced Broker working with ARC for 24 Years now. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree and an RPLU, he began his career at AIG, in 1985 in the Lawyers Professional Liability Division. Dana has worked at ARC, acting as Claims Counsel, for four years now, specializing in Management and Professional Lines. After earning a B.A. from Georgetown University and attending Columbia University School of Law, as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, Dana became an Assistant District Attorney for New York County, an Agency Attorney at the New York City Department of Education and an Associate at Mendes & Mount. Robert Cavallaro is a member of New York Bar Association, New York City Bar Association and Professional Liability Underwriting Association. He has been with ARC for more than eight years now as Senior Broker working on the placement of all management and professional liability accounts for financial institutions, Fortune 500 companies, technology, manufacturing and pharmaceutical companies. She graduated from the State University of New York at Albany (Cum Laude) with a B.A. in Public Affairs and a minor in Criminal Justice and received her Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law, where she was on the Law Review. Before joining ARC, Janet held the position of Senior Vice President and Claims Manager of the Executive Risk Claims Practice at Alliant Insurance. Prior to that she was Senior Vice President and headed the National Executive Risk Claims team at Hilb Rogal and Hobbs. Janet’s career in the insurance industry started at AIG where she managed a claim staff in the Financial Institutions Department, and she began her legal career in private practice where she was a commercial litigator. John graduated from Chaminade High School in Mineola, NY followed by Loyola College in Maryland, where he received a B.A. in History and Political Science. Patrick graduated Siena College, Cum Laude, with a B.A. degree in History and Minor in Computer Science. Incredibly, he was first hired by ARC while in high school to send out mail after school hours. Since then he climbed through the ranks to data input and intern broker during college breaks. And immediately upon graduation from college, was hired as a full time broker working directly for Principal Broker, Joe Vaccaro. Patrick is now a team member sustaining and growing a book of business by negotiating and determining the most competitive and competent coverage terms for clients. His focus is Management and Professional Liability, specializing primarily in Privacy and Security Liability. Anthony is with ARC for eleven years now. Dan Sarrantonio has worked at ARC since 2000 and was promoted as a Broker to work along side John Semeraro in 2006. He earned his MBA from Adelphi University and a BA from Oneonta after starting his education at Suffolk Community College and acquiring his Associates degree. Robin is a current member of PLUS, so he stays on top of the industry to help service he clients better. After graduating from Queens College and then earning an MBA at Fordham University, Craig worked for AIG as Senior Underwriter, CNA as Vice President, Underwriting, for Financial Institutions, and now is enmeshed as Senior Wholesale Broker with ARC Excess and Surplus. He is responsible for brokering all product lines (D&O, Employment Practices, Fiduciary Liability, Professional Liability) across a broad spectrum of industries. In 2014, Maria was hired to lead a new team at ARC focusing on D&O and E&O lines. She graduated from the College of Insurance (now known as The School of Risk Management at St. John’s University) and she also holds both a Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) designation. Maria previously developed and ran the Management and Professional Liability wholesale division of Program Brokerage Corporation since 2003. She was their Chief Sales Officer for all their product lines. She also spent ten years as an underwriter for Professional Liability, Directors & Officers (D&O), Employment Practices Liability (EPL), Fiduciary and Crime/Fidelity coverage for all business types. She is currently on the Executive Committee and will be President of The PLUS Foundation for the upcoming 2016-2017 term as well as a member of PLUS.

Joe earned a B.A. from Bowdoin College and began his professional career with Mass Mutual Group Life and Health from 1988-1990. He attended graduate school and earned his MBA from Hofstra University in 1992 and returned to the insurance sector joining Chubb’s Executive Protection Department from 1993-1994 and AIG Financial Institutions Division 1994-2001. Joe has been with ARC Excess & Surplus, LLC since September 2001. He has written on topics concerning financial institutions (ABA Banking Journal White Paper “What to Know Before you Buy” regarding All-Risk Bankers Professional Liability Policies), spoken at executive protection conferences and is a current member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society. He operates as a Senior/Principal Broker specializing in Directors & Officer Liability, Union Liability, Labor Management Trust Liability, Financial Institutions Professional Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Crime (Commercial & Financial Institution) and Cyber Liability. Joe has earned multiple producer awards for outstanding production from various carriers. When not at work, Joe can be found participating in triathlons, boating, biking, hiking, fishing, camping and enjoying all things outdoors. Joe is also an early riser who wakes at 4:30 AM and is regularly in the office by 7 AM following his early morning workouts.

Colleen graduated cum laude from Farmingdale State University, acquiring a B.S. Degree in Business Management. While still in college Colleen began her insurance career as an intern at CBS Coverage Group. During the 2 years she was there, she helped develop marketing materials in the law division for various E&O products including Lawyers Professional Liability, Employment Practices Liability, and Cyber Security Liability. She also researched prospective client data to help implement strategies to develop new broker relations.
Right out of college, Colleen was hired at Program Brokerage Corporation (PBC). There she began as an Account Executive, acting as a liaison between clients and underwriters facilitating solutions for hard to place accounts in the marketplace. She worked with various kinds of risks which included Medical practices, Law firms, Architects, Engineers, and Financial institutions. Her focus being D&O, E&O, EPLI, Fiduciary, Crime, and Medical Malpractice.
Collen Waldeck has been in the insurance industry over 5 years now, working in the professional liability space. Currently she is “very happy” to be at ARC on Maria Treglia’s team, with whom she previously worked with at PBC. Colleen’s focuses at ARC include all D&O and E&O lines of business, specializing in the placement of new and renewal business for various kinds of risks. Colleen is a noteworthy resource to retail brokers with her ability to evaluate policy language, by providing coverage comparisons, and giving detailed marketplace analysis to service and manage accounts.
